Update 2

Ok so its been while since I was last working on the Yamaha mostly because of work but also getting the carbs cleaned was a longer process than first thought, but as you can see it was worth it!

As you can see they're pretty bling, Matt of Harpers Ultrasonic (www.harpers-ultrasonic.com) did a stellar job and I whole heartedly recommend him if you need any carbs refurbed.

With the carbs refitted we turned the engine over and then hooked the bike up to a small car to jump start it and......... it lives! :-)  Even better it sounds pretty sweet!  The video is pretty crappy but you get the idea.

Next up was to balance the carbs, then I got to start stripping the bike down.  By the end of the day i'd emptied all the oil (smelt more like varnish!)  stripped the front brakes off and the entire electrical system (wiring loom, lights, swtich gear and components) so that at the end I had a lovely big box of parts, labeled up wiring loom and an even more stripped out rolling chasis.

It's good to make more progress with the bike, I've also had more ideas about what I want to do with the bike, so will update the research page soon.

More to follow in the next week or two.
